Gramercy
Capital Management: |
The Shattan Group |
Gramercy is a Wall Street money management
firm representing a select clientele of 1/2 million dollar or more
investors. Gramercy centers around Joan Lappin, its president, founder and
chief investment analyst. a former Business Week top 50 women in industry
and a 35-year veteran of Wall Street, Joan was looking to return to
full-time money management and rebuild her clientele.
Under my management Joan was quoted in CFO Magazine, appeared on CNBC,
as well as guest wrote the Heard From the Buy side column in Red
Herring Magazine, had a pull-quote and picture in the Forbes Investment
Guide special issue and was the focus of a 100 Grand column in
Delta Sky -- the airlines in-flight magazine.
|
The Shattan Group (TSG) was a
specialized or boutique Private Equity Investment Bank geared
toward raising second round investment capital for mid-size growth
companies perhaps looking to buy out an owner or where a good management
team wants to expand but does not want to cede control of its company.
I provided full-service public relations for TSG with the desired
result of singling the group, and especially Thomas Shattan, out as the
experts regarding its niche market.
I arranged meetings with various reporters from publications including
Forbes, the Wall Street Journal and Business Week. Arranged interview with
CNNfn's Tony Guida; developed contact and potential customer lists,
created and designed national advertisements, wrote copy and designed
promotional material for new website.

As the 1990's Bubble burst, this article I arranged in Delta Airlines' in-flight
magazine was credited by Joan Lappin for saving her firm.

Made all inquiries and arrangements for a six-minute
interview with Tony Guida on his weekly show Entrepreneurs Only.
Worked closely with Tom Shattan to coach and prepare him for the
interview.

Worked very closely with Associate Editor Jim Clash to get coverage in Forbes special issue
Investment Guide (remains on newsstand for entire month). Although we did
not get expected coverage, client was pictured and had two pull quotes.
|
|

Made all arrangements for client to guest write the Heard From the
Buyside column -- when Red Herring was in it's hey-day.
